problems with college

I'm a college student and I know from experience that life can really suck sometimes. Sometimes it feels like there is nothing anyone can do to help, but then a friend comes along and talks to you and you feel a lot better. I know I would not have been able to make it through some days if it were not for my friends kicking me in the butt and telling me that life can have its ups and downs but that's why we have friends to help us up. I may not have learned everything there is to learn from life but I have learned a lot from my experiences and I want to share them with anyone I can. I will check the blog every day and write as often as I can. This week my topic is going to be studies. When I was in High School I was a pre-med as a magnet so I was doing classes like chemistry, biology, anatomy and physiology, and pathophysiology. I loved it and I was good at it, I became a certified first responder in my senior year and I thought sure I'll go to college and major in pre-med and become an ER physician. College became a reality check for me to say the least. I got about halfway through my first semester of college chemistry and was flunking. It was hard for me to accept because I graduated in the top 20% of my class so I was not used to failing. After I came to terms with the fact that I was not a failure and that college Chem is a really hard class it was a little easier for me to change my major and move forward. However, I changed my major to psychology and I loved it, I got through my first psych class but not well. I got a D in intro so once again I was faced with what should I do? Should I change my major again, or just retake the class? I decided to retake the class and I'm glad I did because it was better the second time around. Because of my experience with chemistry and intro to psychology I decided I would take a class that would be a little easy for me to help boost my GPA so I took British literature not knowing that is was a class designed for college juniors and seniors, I was a freshmen at the time and my adviser forgot to mention that fact to me, so I failed it and when I attempted it a second time I barely got a C. So all in all my first two years of college were disastrous and I was ready to quit and just lifeguard for the rest of my life. My friends and family talked me into going to the Community College near my home and getting my bachelors degree, I am currently working on getting my bachelors degree and I could not be happier about my current situation. Sometimes it takes a few failures in order to really appreciate the rewards you receive in the end.
